Sometimes it is hard to describe what happens at a prayer meeting, with all the energy brought by God’s power and the hope we receive as a result. We thank God for such a night, and ask that the fire we experienced would not be diminished as we find ourselves in the crush of another school week.

One main theme of our prayers at this week’s meeting was, that we would be “all in,” coming against lukewarm hearts in ourselves and others. We ask for a baptism with the Spirit’s fire, that we would not hesitate to live in the radical way of Christ. We ask, Lord, that we would not think twice before sharing Christ’s love and gospel with those around us, in our classrooms, clubs, and dorms. For we know there is nothing more exciting than seeing someone go from death to life as a result of Your gospel. Our classrooms are our mission field!

We ask also that we might be Christ’s ambassadors carrying this message of reconciliation to the world.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were make his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” ~2 Corinthians 5:17-20

We plead that this reconciliation between God and man would come on our campus, and with it reconciliation between men. Unify us, Lord, that there be not a “White Baylor,” “Hispanic Baylor,” or “Black Baylor,” but that in You we simply become united followers of Christ at Baylor.

“There is one body and one Spirit- just as you were called to one hope when you were called- one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” ~Ephesians 4:4

Make us fearless, Lord, to cross boundaries, to reach out to those different than us in ethnicity and lifestyle. Father, please cast out fear of man from us.

We ended our meeting by asking God to let His kingdom come . . . for we have no other purpose in seeking revival than this. We seek not that Baylor would be lifted up, or ourselves, but only our God. Lord, let Your kingdom come!

We ask that you partner with us in these prayers.

Peace and Blessings for your week,
Baylor BSM
